The mafia car insurance in the United States and Canada for newcomers

The mafia car insurance in the United States and Canada for newcomers

This is a thing that pisses me off when I change country, an opportunity that many companies have simply abusing the system and charge ridiculous prices of new arrivals, and the mob of car insurance in the United States and Canada is chipping!
I swear, it was like that in Canada when we moved there in the year 2000 and now we are going through the same rigmarole here in the United States (Florida). Every hour is an excuse they give to charge what they want: lack of Social Insurance Number from one of the members, lack of experience, was uninsured in the country of origin for more than 1 year, lack of experience in direction etc etc etc … and the only excuse that would “sense.” in our case, we would be buying a sports car, so the claim could have been “driver who enjoy high speed”, but anyway, it’s ridiculous!
If I say that we are paying more than $ 2, 000.00 for 6 months of insurance would you believe?! Yes, and I’ve got history in Canada and Australia, in addition to Brazil. There are more than 15 years of experience as a driver. It’s disgusting and I don’t see the Government trying to change that attitude, that my attitude is prejudiced. #ProntoFalei after one or two years the trend in the price of insurance is dropping the price considerably, but this first phase ends with our pocket!
After a few quotes, we close with the Progressive here in Florida, for that price I mentioned above! indecent Now, to try a 30% discount, we will use the driver assessment system of Progressive called Snapshot, and in 30-60 days, let’s see if we can do something. because here at home nobody is crazy in the direction, so that system I think it’s going to help us.
Australia can’t complain, as it was the first country that we didn’t have that kind of attitude and told okay. Australia is definitely cheaper when it comes to car insurance. Just as a comparison. After 10 years in Canada, without any accidents or any request for reimbursement to the insurance company, I paid something like $ 150 dollars Canadians per month, that is $ 1800 per year for an SUV, and, living in Oakville (suburb of Toronto). If you were to address in Toronto, certainly would be more than $ 2,000 a year (being new immigrant so … This value increases).
Already here in Australia, living in the city of Brisbane (third largest in the country), with only 3 months of “experience”; for an SUV, 4 × 4, closed at $ 700 dollars a year. Remembering that today Canadian dollar 1 practically corresponds to 1 Australian. And they take years of international experience.
Note 10 for Australia.
Oh yeah … we close our car insurance with the company AAMI.
